The E63 - Nokia’s Cheap, But Useful Smartphone

Posted on 25 November 2008

Nokia E63

As you probably heard, Nokia unveiled a new smartphone two weeks ago. Yeah, I’m talking about the E63 and although it’s not as “clever” as the E71, the full-QWERTY keyboard and the Navi-Wheel device is similar to the one found at the N85 which means that it’s better than the navigational device that E71 currently features.

The new E63 smartphone is based on quad-band 3G, GPRS, and EDGE. The connectivity features are completed by Wi-Fi capability as well as A2DP Bluetooth, and the old n’ rusty Infrared. There will be enough space for your important emails and documents on the 110MB of internal memory, but if you are running low in capacity then you can always use the 8GB microSD card to store any other files.

Nokia E63 runs on Symbian 9.2 S60 version 3.2, and it features a plastic casing which cuts down the weight of the smartphone. Also, you should know that the battery life is better than the E71’s as you can talk for 11 hours or you can leave your E63 in standby for 432 hours.

The E63 is a simple, but useful smartphone with many key features like a 3.5mm jack and FM radio which every cellphone should have. It’s cheaper than the E71 and other BlackBerry handhelds so I’m waiting for the E63 to show up sometime in the Q1 of 2009.
