The Windows Hardware Engineering Conference, or WinHEC, 2008 is held in Los Angeles and it has been pretty interesting so far. A couple of weeks ago, ASUS unveiled a new incredibly cool and slim laptop, the Eee PC S101 which comes with a WSVGA 10.2-inch screen. The ultraportable is based on an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of DDR2, Wireless 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.0 and 1.3-megapixel camera.

Well, we love all love those tiny Eee PCs, actually we love them because they are portable and cheap, however, we would like them to be more powerful and hopefully, that’s what we will get as Samsun Hu, ASUS’ division manager, said that they are planning hardware upgrades to their Eee PC line.

Photos of Dell’s latest Eee PC, supposedly called ‘mini-Inspiron’, got leaked and we can already make some assumptions about its features. The 8.9 inches device comes with options of either Windows XP Home or Ubuntu Linux installed and the price will not be higher than $500.
