Slack Debuts New Automation Tools At Dreamforce
Slack has unveiled enhancements that make it easier for teams to use the platform and pull in actionable data from Salesforce Customer 360.
The changes were announced earlier this week at the Salesforce Dreamforce conference.
The new tools include:
– Slack canvas, a new surface within a firm’s digital HQ (described by Slack as “the command center of your workday”). that helps firms curate, organize and share critical resources.
– Slack huddles, offering multi-person screen sharing and message threads to power live coworking sessions in the digital HQ.
Slack is focused on “helping our customers navigate the future of work, whether that’s hybrid, remote or in the office,” says Tamar Yehoshua, chief product officer, Slack.
To that end, Slack has been “introducing capabilities like Slack Connect, clips, huddles and now canvas, that bring more value to our customers and enhance working in a digital HQ,” Yehoshua adds.
Slack argues that, as teams collaborate, it’s easy to update the canvas with links to draft email copy and mockups and to access rich previews of creative design files from across the brand and agency partners.
Meanwhile, Slack has a new platform that can help developers create workflows for their teams. It offers new ways to automate tasks and connect siloed systems, the company says.
Salesforce acquired Slack in 2021 for $27.7 billion. The combined companies started offering workflow notifications that automatically update Slack channels when changes to an email — say, a new headline — are made.
