Microsoft Rolls Out Third-Party Government Services Advertising Pilot
Microsoft Rolls Out Third-Party Government Services Advertising Pilot
Microsoft on Wednesday launched a pilot program to allow advertising by delegated or authorized providers of certain government services.
The pilot is limited to the Microsoft Advertising Search Network and Microsoft Audience Network in the United States with review and pre-approval.
Microsoft notes that it will only consider certain government products and services unless approved otherwise:
- Recreational passes/licenses including but not limited to, hunting license, fishing license, national park pass, forest pass, among others.
- Vehicle registration and title services including but not limited to registration renewal, replacement of lost title, replacement of lost tabs/sticker, among others.
- Vital records including but not limited to birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, among others.
Advertisers also must provide certain information to apply for participation in the pilot. For example, they must provide a list of the products and services they plan to advertise, a list of states that they will target for each product and service, and proof of delegation and authorization for each product and service in the state where they will advertise.
Advertisers must comply with all regulatory and licensing requirements for the specific locations where their ads will serve up, and they must comply with all Microsoft Advertising policies.
