13 Reasons Why is a show based on the 2007 novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and adapted by Brian Yorkey for Netflix. The show has become immensely popular and is already on top of the most tweeted programs of 2017. The show revolves around Clay Jensen’s classmate Hannah Baker’s suicide. Clay finds a package on his doorstep two weeks later containing thirteen videotapes made by Hannah. The videotapes explain the thirteen reasons behind her suicide. Clay is shocked to know he is one of them and is desperate to find out how he fits in.

Netflix has already renewed 13 Reasons Why for Season 2. 13 Reasons Why Season 2 will feature 13 episodes and will premiere in 2018. Netflix has however not revealed the release date. Selena Gomez, who happens to be one of the executive producers of the show, has dropped major hints about the forthcoming season.

In a recent interview, Selena Gomez has revealed what’s in store for the viewers of 13 Reasons Why Season 2. The 24-year-old pop star has told that she had paid a visit to the writer’s room, where Season 2’s story was in the works. She has revealed that she couldn’t contain the excitement after she got to know the details of the story line.

“I was in the writers’ room the other day, and they’re working so hard and it’s going to come together. I was sitting there at the table, like, ‘Wait, what happened?’ Almost freaking out.”

The actress continued to talk about how some of the questions that remained in the first show will be answered in the upcoming new episodes.

“I think for season two, we elaborate more on some of those questions and the stories and the resolution, if you will, of what some of these kids have gone through and are going through. So it’s exciting.”

Brian Yorkey, Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner, will be the showrunner in Season 2, taking Diana Son’s position, who was the showrunner for the first season. Brian Yorkey has written the adaptation and served as executive producer for Season 1 of the series.
