Are Boston Dynamics’ robotic Reindeer The Ghosts Of Christmas Future?

either that, or the nightmare sooner than Christmas.

December 23, 2015

The Google-owned robotics firm Boston Dynamics delivered a novel holiday greeting this week: a video of the company’s robots pulling a (human) Santa in a sleigh.

the company develops robots for the militia, Sony, and different users, and showcases a number of human- and animal-impressed robots throughout its web site, from leaping sand fleas to a sprinting WildCat that is if truth be told shaped a little more like a buffalo.

The reindeer robots featured within the video look like diversifications on the company’s canines-inspired Spot robots, which are designed for navigating indoor and outside terrain.

there is one thing a little bit spooky about this, in a year when a few distinguished researchers started seriously questioning whether artificial intelligence would possibly someday pose an actual risk to humanity. however these reindeer are tame when compared to a few different robotic Christmas creations.

remember that these Santa-bots from doctor Who?

Or this Santa from Futurama?

How about Jack Skellington from Nightmare sooner than Christmas?

but the scariest Santa of all? we won’t even publish the picture, you’ll have to search for your self.
