Today, Apple launched its Back To School deals 2016 for students in U.S. and Canada. The deal runs from June 2 through September 5, giving you a free pair of Beats Solo2 wireless headphones ($299) if you buy an iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. If you choose to buy iPad Pro, iPhone 6s or iPhone 6, you’ll get a free pair of Beats Powerbeats2 wireless headphones ($199).

To use the deal, buyers must be enrolled at an eligible college or higher education institution. In order to claim your free pair of Beats headphones, you must buy a Mac, iPhone or iPad Pro at an Apple Retail Store, or through the Online Apple Store for Education.

In addition to free headphones, you can get a discount when buying Mac or iPad. Although this is a pretty sweet deal, it is worth noting that you get the latest MacBook Air at Best Buy for as low as $599 (must use .edu email id), and there’s a deal on Ebay where you can buy an iPad Pro with a discount of $279 on the regular price.

An interesting thing about the new deal is that both headphone models are wireless, which just further proves that Apple will definitely leave the analog 3.5 mm headphone jack with the release of iPhone 7. It seems that rumors were right and that you’ll have to buy a new pair of headphones if you use wired ones and plan to buy new iPhone.
