Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has announced its latest smartphone Gionee S6 Pro. The S6 pro is the successor to previous year’s Gionee S6. Just like its predecessor, the Gionee S6 Pro also sports an all-metal body and the device looks premium and elegant. It features a 5.5-inch IPS display, but this time, it has been upgraded to 1080p from the earlier 720p display of the S6.

The Gionee S6 Pro is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 chipset coupled with Mali-T860MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device offers an impressive internal memory of 64GB which can be further expanded via a microSD card. The S6 Pro also sports a 13 MP primary rear shooter like the S6, but the camera has been enhanced this time with phase-detection autofocus. The front camera has also been upgraded to 8MP.

The device offers a fingerprint sensor on the rear, hybrid dual-SIM slot and USB Type-C port among other notable features. It packs a decent 3,130 mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo 2.3 UI on top.

The Gionee S6 Pro has been priced CNY 1,999 (approx. $300)  and will be made available in Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold colour options. The device is currently available only in China where it is being sold via Gionee’s Shop and TMall. There’s still no word on when it will hit other global markets.
