Gmail Service Out In Parts Of Asia
Gmail is down in parts of Asia and Australia, according to media reports.
In India, users of Google’s enterprise Gmail for businesses had trouble refreshing, sending and receiving emails, Economic Times writes.
Gmail has acknowledged the issue.
“The affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior,” the company said in an email sent to users, Economic Times continues.
The problems also affected other parts of the Asia-Pacific region.
“Down in Ho Chi Minh city, cannot read or send email,” one Gmail user posted on downdetector. A similar report came in from Quezon City, Philippines
However, another user wrote, “Normal service resumed here in Phnom Penh.”
In Australia, people complained about not being able to access their emails, with the complaints peaking at around 5 p.m., according to news.com.au.
Downdetector reports that there have been problems with Gmail, starting at 3:17 a.m. EDT. Of the reports coming in, 47% cited log-in difficulties, and 31% inability to receive messages. One user complained of problems in the Netherlands.
The downdetector map shows moderate issues in the U.S., mostly in the Northeast. Service was apparently also slow on Tuesday.
