The phone sports a 5.9-inch 1080p IPS LCD display covered in 2.5D glass with almost invisible side bezels. The phone is powered by a new Kirin 960 chipset, an octa-core solution consisting out of 4 Cortex-A73 cores running at 2.4 GHz and 4 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 cores for conserving power. Mate 9 comes with powerful ARM Mali-G71 MP8 GPU, based on the latest Bifrost gen architecture. Such premium devices from the stable of Huawei will likely give the company solid sales boost. And now, it looks like another premium device is on the horizon.
Huawei is reportedly working on a new smartphone, a concept phone to be precise, something similar to Xiaomi Mi Mix. The concept phone has futuristic looks and most probably a bezel-less screen. A Chinese tipster on the microblogging site Weibo has posted about the rumored concept phone. If rumors are to be believed, the new Huawei smartphone will come with a stunning quad-curved screen. Yes, this isn’t one of those curved edge display and dual curved displays. It’s a completely different screen altogether – with curves on all four sides!
What exactly does this mean? It just means that the phone will come with curves on all sides. Quick imagination will tell you that the phone will probably sport a stunning border-less, free-falling look. The post also talks about the probability of this concept phone getting released under a new brand, similar to Honor series.
Will Huawei’s concept phone set the standards for all upcoming high-end premium flagship phones? Can Huawei get the pricing and design right? Let’s wait and watch!
