LinkedIn is expanding its arsenal of apps with look up, a software intended to help individuals connect with their colleagues. Unveiled on Wednesday, the professional network’s new offering allows customers to search out and consider contact data for different employees at their company, primarily serving as a web-based listing.

“Most firms have some crappy listing provider that both they’ve created themselves or they’re [paying for],” lookup’s project lead, Ankit Gupta, advised Re/code. the new app seeks to switch those dysfunctional methods with a streamlined, firm-specific network.

lookup users will need to verify their corporation by using offering a work e mail tackle. they’ll then be able to observe down coworkers’ profiles and contact information, without getting into explicit filters or search phrases.

individuals have already been the usage of LinkedIn to seek out their colleagues, Gupta wrote in a weblog submit: customers click on a coworker’s profile about 30% of the time while browsing the platform for new connections.
