Mafia 3 is The Fastest Selling Game in 2K’s History; Shipped 4.5 Millions Copy In First Week

Mafia 3 shipped 4.5 million copies in its first week on the market, making it the fastest-selling game in the history of publisher 2K, according to parent company Take-Two Interactive. The story is good/great voice acting and the gameplay is just okay. This game serves as the ultimate benchmark for titles aspiring to strike that right balance between a 5 and a perfect 10 on the review scale.

Mafia 3 made 2K a lot of money in a very short amount of time

Before this, it was Borderlands 2 which was the flagship title of 2K Games. Mafia 3 is repetitive but we can assure you the Mafia franchise will forever live for years. It’s because of how good Mafia 1 was that developers and gamers are so into the idea of a mafia. So it’s only natural for fans to want something alike that is good and better.

Probably the game was the fastest selling to retailers because they thought it’d be a hit. We’d like to know how many copies were actually sold to customers after release. Reviews were overall pretty poor for this game and the hype died way down even before release.

However, we really did like the storyline. But for the next game, we’re really hoping for a less repetitive approach. More side missions (that aren’t repetitive), and more things to do overall in the free roam. Examples would be like racing, gambling, clubs, selling/buying/managing illegal goods, pool, bars, boxing/fight club, etc. Possibilities are endless.

Mafia III is an action-adventure video game developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games for Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is the third installment in the Mafia series.
