December 9, 2015
a few nights ago, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump created an uproar (and received some applause) when he prompt Muslims should be banned from entering the united states. Even with out The Donald’s demagoguery, this isn’t an easy period for Muslim americans. Brutal ISIL terror assaults in Paris closing month and closing week’s shooting in San Bernardino, California, it seems that via Islamic extremists, have generated concern and suspicion of Muslims during the Western world—and some of that sentiment has even appeared on fb.
Tonight, the social community’s founder posted a message of reinforce to his Muslim, er, followers:
I wish to add my voice in toughen of Muslims in our group and around the globe.
After the Paris attacks and hate this week, i will only imagine the concern Muslims feel that they’ll be persecuted for the movements of others.
As a Jew, my folks taught me that we should get up towards attacks on all communities. even supposing an attack isn’t in opposition to you these days, in time assaults on freedom for any individual will hurt everyone.
if you are a Muslim on this community, as the leader of facebook i want you to know that you are always welcome here and that we will be able to struggle to offer protection to your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you.
Having a child has given us so much hope, but the hate of some can make it easy to succumb to cynicism. We must not lose hope. as long as we stand collectively and see the great in every different, we will build a better world for all folks.
this is, it seems, a season of hope for Zuckerberg. He and his spouse, Priscilla Chan, became oldsters at the end of last month—and marked the celebration with the aid of launching a brand new philanthropic LLC, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
