Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan Won’t Be Voting for Donald Trump

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said Wednesday that he would not be voting for Donald Trump in November’s presidential election.

Hogan, the Republican governor of a blue state, has previously voiced his discontent with his party’s nominee, but had never said he wouldn’t be voting Trump — until Wednesday.

“No, I don’t plan to,” Hogan told reporters Wednesday, according to the Washington Post. “I guess when I get behind the curtain I’ll have to figure it out. Maybe write someone in. I’m not sure.”

Trump won Maryland’s Republican primary in April by a large margin, even after Hogan endorsed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie earlier in the election cycle. After Christie dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump, Hogan said he was “disgusted with national politics” and refused to endorse another candidate, according to the Post.

Hogan’s distaste didn’t seem to have abated Wednesday as he declared that he is “not pleased with the candidates in either party…I don’t think either party has put up its best candidate.”
