Munchery Launches On-Demand Meal Kits To Compete With Plated And Blue Apron

The meals-supply wars have simply crossed genres.

Munchery, an on-demand meal startup, wants to take a chunk out of another rising market: the meal-kit industry.

the company is launching “prepared-to-cook dinner ingredients” on Tuesday. as a substitute of totally prepared, chef-created dishes, these kits embrace a recipe for an entree or a dessert and the pre-portioned components required to make it. The promise is that people will be capable of “prepare dinner” dinner in under quarter-hour.

Blue Apron, Plated, and HelloFresh all present an identical meal kits, but they achieve this on a subscription foundation. Munchery’s model will take advantage of the on-demand supply construction it already has in position. the choice will launch first in San Francisco, however “will extend soon” to Munchery’s other locations in los angeles, NY city, and Seattle.
