QVC and HSN-owner Qurate Retail Group has announced an experiential video-shopping platform called Sune that launched on Tuesday as a beta mobile app focused on younger consumers.

Sune is built off of engaging and entertaining videos and livestreams designed to help shoppers discover new products, makers, and brands. The company says that over the coming months it will introduce creator personalities, undiscovered brands and a calendar of live product drops.

In the spirit of live social-media shopping, consumers on Sune are able to purchase products directly within their feed while also connecting and engaging with a variety of entertaining content based on personal shopping preferences.

“Our goal, as the beta version of Sune evolves, is to elevate mission-driven brands to share their stories and products, while offering new ways for the younger generations to shop by leveraging live and live-like video commerce,” says Sune founder and general manager of Live Shop Ventures LL, Brian Beitler.

For brand founders, influencers and hosts (which the company is calling “sunesetters”), the app claims to provide sellers with the opportunity to manage their inventory, pricing and shipping costs while maintaining full control over their Sune storefronts.

Brands are able to access Sune’s proprietary in-house live studio software, remote co-hosting model, and will receive guidance on video creation, likely from veteran influencers.

Sune’s beta app is currently available for iPhone users on the Apple App Store.
