Shakeup At DigitasLBi: Nigel Vaz Upped To Global President, Luke Taylor Departs

Nigel Vaz has been promoted to global president DigitasLBi, part of Publicis Groupe’s Publicis.Sapient, the agency has confirmed. Luke Taylor Global CEO DigitasLBi is leaving the agency.

In addition to leading Publicis.Sapient in Europe and Asia, Vaz will now be responsible for global strategy and growth at DigitasLBi, which was created in 2012 when Publicis Groupe bought LBi for $540 million and merged it with Digitas, which the holding company had acquired a few years earlier. Taylor had been CEO at LBi and was then tapped to run the merged entity.

“As clients transform to be digital-first and develop digitally-driven business models, it’s critical we help them access capabilities and talent across our brands in order to deliver the outcomes at the speed they require. This will be a key objective for Nigel in his new role,” stated Alan Wexler, Co-CEO of Publicis.Sapient.

The appointment is another step in Publicis.Sapient’s effort to to integrate its management structure. Alan Wexler and Chip Register were recently named Co-CEOs of Publicis.Sapient, with Vaz reporting to them as CEO of Publicis.Sapient in EMEA and APAC. He will continue to report to Wexler and Register as he takes on the added DigitasLBi duties.

Wexler also serves as the CEO of SapientRazorfish and Register also serves as the CEO of Sapient Consulting.
