Sofia Vergara Celebrates Birthday With T-Shirt Of Magic Mike XXL’s Joe Manganiello

If you are going to celebrate your birthday, you may as well go big. Sofía Vergara turned 43 on Friday, and she had a fun and creative birthday celebration. The Modern Family star, 43, shared an inside look from her birthday night on Instagram, including two photos of her wearing the white tee over her yellow dress. Here are pics from the event.

Manganiello is currently starring in Magic Mike XXL. It has been three years since Mike Lane’s (Channing Tatum) retirement from stripping, but the former dancer misses the excitement and feeling of being on stage. Most of all, though, he misses the best friends that he ever had, the crew known as the Kings of Tampa. Opportunity comes knocking when the guys look him up as they travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for a stripper convention. With the promise of outrageous fun, a reinvigorated Mike can’t resist the chance to join in and take it off again.
The precise choreography required of the actors in Magic Mike XXL did lead to one grim injury, incurred while Manganiello filmed his elaborate final number.
“My dance partner did something unrehearsed, and the result was a loud rip and a pop [of] my bicep,” the actor remembered. “I had to go in the back and we kind of had our all valley karate Miyagi moment in the back. . . . A masseuse was trying to work what we thought was a bone back into my arm.”
Manganiello, no stranger to muscle mishaps, knew that if he waited another day he wouldn’t be able to move his arm. So, honorably, the actor rallied and returned to the convention stage where he had to film his rigorous routine.
“For the next four and a half hours we did this routine that involves this, like, sex swing, and these monkey bars that I have to run on top of,” said Manganiello. “My brain wouldn’t allow me to visualize landing on it because it knew [my brain] was trying to stop me. But we made it through.”
There was one person on set, however, who was more horrified by the incident than Manganiello’s co-stars and the movie’s concerned producers.
“Sofía was there that day,” Manganiello said, referring to his fiancée Vergara. “We got back [to my trailer], and as soon as the door closed, she looked at me and said, ‘If I see you at the gym tomorrow, we’re done. I’m going to leave you. That’s it!’”
