Women in Louisiana likely won’t be celebrating the fact that they live in the home of the nation’s biggest gender pay gap. Men in that state earn an extra $15,238 dollars more than women, which is more than the gap in New York and California combined.
Florida, meanwhile has the smallest pay gap where the difference is $5,474; three times lower than Louisiana.
The researchers at Expert Market used data from the National Women’s Law Center to determine average wages in each U.S. state and pinpoint where the largest gender wage gaps are.
