Tinder Goes On Offensive After Billboard Says App leads to STDs
September 30, 2015
Tinder has long gone on the offensive after an AIDS organization paid for a billboard that claims Tinder and Grindr use results in STD’s — including gonorrhea and chlamydia.
The billboard was commissioned by way of the L.A.-primarily based AIDS Healthcare basis. Tinder has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the organization.
“These unprovoked and completely unsubstantiated accusations are made to irreparably harm Tinder’s popularity,” the letter learn. “whereas Tinder strongly helps such testing, the billboard’s statements aren’t founded upon any scientific evidence and are incapable of withstanding very important analysis.”
The billboard concerns an outright assault against Tinder and Grindr. The commercial features silhouettes of two couples who’re closely facing every different. a person with the word “Tinder” written across his head faces a lady with the word “chlamydia” written across hers. subsequent to them, a pair of fellows have the words “Grindr,” and “Gonorrhea” written throughout their faces.
Grindr has no longer mentioned whether or not it has also requested that the billboard be eliminated. Grindr did say that it eliminated commercials the group was once running after the billboard was once placed.
Tinder is currently the top lifestyle app on both iOS and Google Play.
