just as Japan “misplaced” one nationwide Stadium this week, its earlier arena has returned—this time within the type of good-looking stools, chairs, and benches reincarnated from the cobalt-blue seats at first located in Kenzo Tange’s 1964 construction.

the japanese furniture firm Karimoku smartly scooped up about seven hundred seats when the stadium, which hosted the ‘sixty four Olympics, was demolished and enlisted latest designers to repurpose them in new methods.

Stadium seats can look terribly out of place in a home surroundings, however these designs manage to steer clear of stumbling out of bounds. The designers—Hiroko Shiratori, Drill Design, and Gen Suzuki—created wooden frames with putting joinery that serves as a pedestal of sorts for the salvaged benches.

while the pieces no doubt lift numerous nostalgia, they do not rely on that sentiment to make them fascinating.
