UFO Footage: Chilean Navy Releases Video Of ‘Mysterious’ Aircraft; Researchers And Investigators Baffled

The CEFAA (Comite De Estudios De Fenomenos Aeros Anomalos), the Chilean government agency which investigates Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) and Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), is busy investigating an exceptional nine-minute Navy video of a UFO. The video was taken by a Navy helicopter in 2014 and shows a mysterious craft. The footage was captured by two naval offices on-board a helicopter using helicopter-mounted Wescam infrared camera, which is commonly used in aerial surveillance.

Chilean Navy UFO Footage baffling in many ways

The captain describes the UFO as a “flat, elongated structure” with “two thermal spotlights-like discharges that did not coincide with the axis of motion.” The video shows the UFO discharging what looks like a “chemical plume”. General Ricardo Bermúdez, Director of CEFAA doing the investigation, told – “We do not know what it was, but we do know what it was not.” As the investigation continued, it became known that the pilots had contacted two nearby radar stations asking for unknown traffic, only to be confirmed that there was no traffic, either civilian or military in the area. The stations even confirmed that no aircraft had been authorized to fly in the area the object was spotted.

It gets even more interesting. The on-board radar failed to detect the object and the camera’s radar also failed to lock onto the target. The technician then filmed the object in IR – which produces a black and white video, with black, white directly representing the intensity of temperature – for nine minutes and twelve seconds. The Navy then handed over the mysterious footage to CEFAA for further investigation.

Was It Really An UFO?

CEFAA has been working hard on this case. It has so far shared the video with several experts, including astrophysicists, nuclear chemists, video and image experts. But the only explanation provided so far explores the possibility of an aircraft dumping cabin wastewater before landing. However, the chances of that happening has been ruled out by many Chilean researchers. If the video in fact pointed at waste dumping, would it not corroborate with radar? Why would pilots fail to recognize the aircraft, if in fact it was one?

Finally, the committee carrying out the investigation concluded that the sighting was in fact an Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP). General Ricardo Bermudez had this to tell – “This has been one of the most important cases in my career as director of CEFAA because our Committee was at its best. The CEFAA is well regarded partly because there is full participation from the scientists of the academic world, the armed forces through their representatives, and the aeronautic personnel from the DGAC, including its Director. I am extremely pleased as well with the conclusion reached which is logical and unpretentious… the great majority of committee members agreed to call the subject in question a UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) due to the number of highly researched reasons that it was unanimously agreed could not explain it.”

Well, it looks like we have a UFO footage that fits right into the description of UAP!
