When does Spotify Wrapped 2024 come out? Here’s what we know and how you’ll be able to see your most streamed songs
Music streamers are eagerly awaiting the release of Spotify’s annual year-in-review feature. If history is any guide, it could drop any time now.
As we barrel toward the end of the year, one thing on the minds of many music lovers right now is Spotify Wrapped, the audio streaming service’s annual recap of the music they listened to in 2024.
With more than 640 million users, including 252 million subscribers in more than 180 markets, like it or not, Spotify Wrapped will be playing on a lot of iPhone AirPods, speakers, and cars this holiday season.
When will Spotify Wrapped 2024 be released?
Based on the past few years, Spotify Wrapped typically releases after Thanksgiving or at the end of November (which is, um, now) or in early December. Here’s when it landed in recent years:
- 2023: November 29
- 2022: November 30
- 2021: December 1
- 2020: December 1
- 2019: December 5
If this timeline is any indication, Wrapped has been released earlier and earlier. (This year, November 29 falls on Black Friday so stay tuned; it could be sooner than you think.)
Fast Company reached out to Spotify for an updated timeline. We’ll update this post if we hear back.
If you’re not familiar with Spotify Wrapped, the campaign creates a listener’s year in audio—their top 100 most streamed songs (also podcasts and artists they shared on social media). It will also tell users the color of their music aura and what region their taste is most like. Think of it as a “year in review” for music.
Some users have reportedly even “hacked” their Wrapped results to look cool, swapping out Kendrick Lamar for Drake, and trying to minimize their oldies but goodies.
How do I access Spotify Wrapped 2024?
To access Spotify Wrapped, log in to your Spotify account and head on over to Spotify’s dedicated Wrapped page. But as of Wednesday, the page said, “Keep playing what you love, and we’ll get in touch when it’s ready.”
What’s on your playlist?
For me, 2024 has been a brat year, and I’ve been listening to Charlie XCX’s “360” and “Girl, so confusing” (featuring Lorde) on repeat. Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet” and Gracie Adams’s “I Love You, I’m Sorry” will also probably make their way onto my Wrapped (uncool), along with an assortment of favorite bands from my past: The Cure, General Public, The Psychedelic Furs (“Love My Way“), Joy Division (“Love Will Tear Us Apart“), and The English Beat’s “Save it For Later” (cool).
