Eww, you’re like a kind of women who marry their husband’s easiest mate six weeks after he’s pegged it,” said my good friend after I informed her of our plans to get a brand new canine.

after I confessed we’d already chosen no longer one but two domestic dogs to be triumphant our much-cherished, lately deceased Daisy, her response was once even more withering.

“So quickly? That’s like snogging within the hospice.”

Ouch. To be truthful, we cried when she died however bad Daisy had been in poor health for 18 months so we’d already finished our mourning.

The Manchester Terrier-formed hole left in our lives wanted to be stuffed in order that’s what we’re doing. but why are we filling it with two pets? Isn’t one canine the norm?

he norm for us, however no longer for canines. yes it is going to be a problem (full ache) to housetrain two leaky doggies and bring them each to obedience courses and pay double the vet bills.

however two pups won’t be lonely once I depart the house. Two doggies won’t howl for a cuddle in the evening, two domestic dogs won’t dolefully pine – they’ll be too busy trashing the sitting room. Oh, and (entre nous) I’m broody.

“they are going to be the 1/3 baby I by no means had,” I dreamily instructed my friend. “The nightmarishly arduous twins you by no means wished, extra like,” she muttered. one in all us is correct. Fingers crossed it’s me.
