XMotors denies receiving stolen Apple car project data

The Chinese-owned electric vehicle company has denied receiving data about Apple’s Project Titan car project from a former Apple employee who has been charged with stealing trade secrets from the Cupertino company. Ex-Apple employee Zhang Xiaolang is alleged to have stolen hardware and software secrets from Apple shortly before resigning, with plans to move back to China to work for XMotors. Xmotors, whose Twitter page says it builds “intelligently connected and all-electric cars for the young generation,” said there is no indication that Zhang ever communicated any sensitive Apple information to the company, reports Reuters. The firm has also said it has terminated Zhang and is supporting local authorities in their investigation.
