Yahoo Mail is experiencing problems for the second time in two weeks. Down Detector reports that Yahoo has been having issues since 10:10 a.m. EST.
The outage map indicates that The Northeast and California are heaviest hit. Some outrages have also been reported in the UK and other parts of Europe.
One commentator said: “Been down all morning in NYC.” Another said: “Down in sunny San Diego,” with similar comments coming from Houston and Chicago. However, one person said: “Back up.”
Of those affected, 50% said they are experiencing log-in problems. In addition, 32% are unable to read mail, and 18% are having trouble receiving email.
In an apparently separate issue, Down Detector reports that “Scammers are attempting to rip off consumers by offering fake support for Yahoo Mail. Yahoo will never charge for support. If you have paid for support, contact your financial institution to report the charge as fraudulent. Also, make sure to review your Yahoo account’s security.”
Late last month, Down Detector reported that Yahoo Mail was down for hours, but apparently it recovered quickly.
Users complained of being unable to log into their email accounts and to send and read mail. Heaviest hit were the United States and the UK.
An Oath spokesperson told Express.co.uk that the problem had been resolved.
